M.T. Lott, as it exists today, started as three separate businesses:

K.M. Gladding Excavating, Inc. - founded in 1996

Island Engineering - founded in 2011

M.T. Lott - founded in 2009

Working separately under K.M. Gladding Excavating and Island Engineering, we found that very often one company was hired for their specific skill set, only to find out that the other's skill set was required as well. Once both of us were on the job together, many clients voiced to us how seamless the project seemed to flow when we worked as a team. Because of this, in 2013, we began to provide excavating and engineering services together as K.M. Gladding Excavating.

Meanwhile, M.T. Lott existed solely as a private entity that restored local historic homes, designed and built new homes and developed real estate for our own investment purposes. Occasionally services were provided to existing clients, but this was not a service we publicly advertised.

After having too many of our clients come to us for help because they were led down the wrong path on their project, we began offering the services of all three businesses under the single roof of M.T. Lott as a full service residential design-build experience.

By providing all services from site and home design and permitting through general contracting and everything in between, we are able to do what we do best: provide thoughtful big picture planning with a single contact point in order to create a seamless process of building your dream home.
